We start in the heart of the city at the Plaça Catalunya, which links the old and new town to the main walking area, the Rambla and Plaça del Vi (town hall square).

Afterwards, we delve into the medieval narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter that lead us to Cathedral Square, a magnificent Baroque courtyard in the heart of the historical town, that was made famous in the HBO series Game of Thrones, where we pay a visit to the Cathedral of Girona, a crown jewel of the Catalan Gothic.

Later, from the city wall, we enjoy the stunning views over the city and the area around it, and then proceed to Saint Daniel valley, an alternative neighbourhood in Girona, surrounded by green areas, fountains, and the small stream Galligants, that takes its name from the Romanesque monastery of the same name, St. Pere de Galligants.

On the footsteps of the church of Sant Feliu, we reach our restaurant for today, to enjoy the delicious gastronomy that our area has to offer.

Lunch in high quality and centenary house restaurant of 1892. Family restaurant for five generations, with typical Catalan food and local cuisine.

Besalú was chosen, a few years ago, as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

The impressive entrance to the town by the 11th-century bridge has been immortalised by many artists.

Then, we delve into the narrow streets of this important medieval town and discover its important Jewish heritage, walk alongside the river Fluvià, and learn about the history of the old Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Besalú, whose construction finished in 1003 AD and represents an impressive example of the first Catalan Romanesque.

We then proceed with a walk on the wall and enjoy some free time in the main square (Freedom square).
